Entrepreneurship in Birmingham

Birmingham is known for its place at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement in American History, southern charm, and growing diversity and downtown hub. Birmingham is a central city in the south, whose recent rebirth is a hotspot for entrepreneurship and industry.  

 

This four day, three night experience is specifically designed to provide college students and recent graduates an opportunity to immerse themselves in the innovative and growing Birmingham community and gain the critical skills and connections that top employers need. Prior to the onsite experience, participants will have one online workshop to prepare for experience.  Participating in this experience will help you on your path to personal and career advancement, as well as connect you to our Jewish ecosystem for a competitive advantage moving forward.     9-10am: Convesation with Career Up Industry Leaders @ Pizitz Building 


    10-11am: Tour of Regions Ball Park and conversation of downtown real estate impact

    12-1pm: Lunch @ Sweet Tea, Conversation with Mike Slive,

    former SEC Commissioner

     

    1:30-2:30pm: Small group interviews with Career Up Industry Leaders

    3:30pm: Free time/prepare for shabbat


    7-8pm: Shabbat Experience


    8:30pm: Shabbat dinner

    10am-12pm: Tour of Civil Rights Institute, including conversation about community impact

    12-1pm: Lunch on Your Own

    1-3pm: Social action project 


    4-7pm: Free Time
